Assessing building products:

Building products are classified as intermediate products, which are to be used in building industry (especially in buildings, roads, and bridges, etc.); building products comprise a wide range of products from bricks, cement, lime, steel structures to very complex glass, polymer structures, which are applied after the façade of a building is completed. Basic requirements concerning the assessment of building products are focused on the final product which is the construction as a whole and then there are requirements concerning the building products themselves and parts of constructions. For the purposes of this group it was necessary to establish more than 500 various standards and with respect to the progressive development in the building industry it is possible to expect further rise in the number of specified standards or other regulations.

CE mark for building products

CE marking on building products:

It applies to all manufacturers, importers and suppliers of particular building products. Conformity of building products is assessed in accordance with the national standards & EU directive, regulations and particular decisions of the European Council as amended.

Major contribution of the CE mark in the building industry:

- possibility of delivering building products to the local market as well as to EU markets
- unambiguous and simple proving of safety of building products
- unambiguous and simple proving of safety of building products
- possibility of delivering building products to the local market as well as EU markets
- if certain requirements are met, sanctions on the part of building supervision bodies are to be minimised

- harmonised Czech technical standards or their parts

Steel structures, sections, parts and combined parts

are building products coming into the building industry as simple or complex elements for the purposes of building steel halls or other constructions where steel elements are used. Next this sphere comprises structural elements, structural sections, sheets, wires and other products to be used for installation and development of building complexes with dismountable or fixed joints (mechanical joints, welded joints). This sphere involves preparation of steel structures and their subsequent processing, protection and ways of use.
